Hoss is a pleasure to hunt behind. He paces himself enabling him to hunt all day. Hoss is a true lover boy and thrives on praise making our training sessions productive with little repetitiveness. Retrieving came naturally to him; you'd think he was born with a bumper in his mouth. 

With the amount of time Hoss spends in the water, you might think he's part lab. He has to be reminded that his enthusiastic ten foot leaps from the shore will not get him to the duck that much quicker.

Hoss spends a majority of his time at home with his owners, Kit and Linda Layland along with their girls, Maira and Georginia and then divides the rest of his time between Jim and Kim Hatten who have successfully campaigned him in the shown ring and Mark & Laura Picard who are responsible for his field training. No matter who's house he is at that week, it's like he's been there all along.  

Hoss will be NAVHDA Utility tested in 2003.
